Indigenous Creators Program: Finding the Right Producer

Indigenous

Finding a producer that can champion your project and handle your story with care and cultural safety can be a challenge. Join First Nations creatives as they share best practice when canvassing producers to collaborate with. First Nations Practitioners Only.

First Nations creatives are often asked to collaborate with more experienced producers to get their projects off the ground – but what does this mean and what does it look like? How do you vet a producer? How should you reach out to them? What questions should you ask? And when you think you’ve found the right person or company, how do you maintain a healthy professional relationship?

In this session we will hear from First Nations practitioners, including Dena Curtis (Inkey Media), Brooke Collard (Goguljar Yok) and Taryne Laffar as they discuss their best advice when forming relationships with new producing partners.

Note: First Nations Practitioners Only.
