AIDC’s 2022 Cut to the Chase is NOW OPEN for submissions by All Access or Business pass-holders. The deadline for submissions is 30 January 2022 at 23:59 AEDT.
Do you have a pitch-ready project for AIDC?
Presented by Xe Money Transfer, Cut to the Chase is AIDC’s curated marketplace, carefully matching producers and decision makers for optimum outcomes with no time-wasting. A hybrid event for 2022, Cut to the Chase will continue to allow decision makers and projects to make meaningful connections through one-on-one meetings.
The most compelling projects will be selected for curated short meetings with local and international decision makers attending AIDC, including commissioning editors, acquisitions executives, distributors and sales agents, plus other financiers and funders.
Passholders are invited to submit two (2) film or television project and one (1) audio documentary project per pass.
- Submissions for Cut to the Chase close Sunday 30 January 2022 at 23:59 AEDT.
- You must purchase a Business Pass or an All Access to submit your pitch.
If your project has been selected for Cut to the Chase meetings by decision makers and production companies, AIDC will contact you no later than a week before the event confirming your meeting schedule. Please note that due to high demand for decision makers, Cut to the Chase meetings cannot be guaranteed.
Key creatives attached to the submission will need to be registered with an AIDC Business Pass or an All Access pass in order to participate in pitch meetings.

Do you have an archive-driven documentary or factual project in the works? The Getty Images Archive Pitch is back for a second year, giving distributors and production companies the opportunity to pitch and partner with Getty Images to produce long-form, archive-rich productions across any genre with international appeal. To be considered for the pitch, apply via the Cut to the Chase application form.
Do you have an engaging Australian documentary series in the works? The DocPlay Originals Pitch seeks producers creating unique, original content telling home-grown stories to pitch and partner with DocPlay to produce long-form, episodic docu-series. To be considered for the pitch, apply via the Cut to the Chase application form.
The Post Lounge is an independently-owned, full-service post-production company, recognised both internationally and domestically for its exceptional post-production capabilities. As part of The Post Lounge Doc Series Pitch, episodic docu-series producers are invited to apply to pitch for up to $30,000 in post-production services. Working with foreign currencies? Xe Money Transfer is offering exclusive workshops to Cut to the Chase participants to spread the word on how to maximise savings and minimise risk with foreign currency exchange. International co-productions are encouraged to participate. More information coming soon.
For the second year running, AIDC will feature marketplace opportunities dedicated to Indigenous practitioners with market-ready projects. The marketplace will be highly competitive, pairing the best projects submitted to AIDC with local and international decision makers specifically looking to work with Indigenous creatives.
To be eligible to participate in the Indigenous Creators Market, delegates must submit a project to Cut to the Chase by 30 January 2022 at 23:59 AEDT.
