TELL ME A SECRET: THE UNTOLD HISTORY OF AUSTRALIA ON SCREEN

CRAFT Innovative storytelling brings history to life on screen, allowing us to dig deep into our colourful past

Factual and documentary allows us to learn about the past and imagine a better future.

Long before Peter Jackson was colourising black and white archive, Tom Brisley collaborated with legendary French archival colourist, Samuel Francois-Steiningein to humanise history. Tom has recently worked with Australian producer Jo-anne McGowan (Stranger Than Fiction) to create Australia in Colour.

In this session, Tom and Jo-anne will talk about the intricacies of combining cutting-edge technology, artistic design and in-depth historical research to create stories that bring history to life. Producer Celia Tait will look at Every Family Has a Secret, a new 3-part series that brings us on a deeply personal journey through history and looks at how issues such as immigration, love, infidelity and war affected individual Australians. Whilst First Wars explores history from the point of view of the indigenous custodians of Australia.
