As Head of Documentary at Screen Australia, Richard is responsible for driving the strategic direction for the agency’s documentary funding programs as well as implementing broader content department priorities.

Before joining Screen Australia, Richard was Acting Head of Factual and Culture at the ABC.  Prior to that he held other senior roles at the ABC including Managing Editor Factual and Culture, Manager of Development for Factual, Entertainment and Partnerships and Supervising Executive Producer.

Richard has also been a director/producer/writer on numerous series for Australian broadcasters as well as Discovery and Discovery Asia. Richard began his career in the UK at companies including Bazal, Endemol, Keo Films and RDF Media, working on factual content for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, National Geographic, and ABC America.

Many of the documentaries and factual series he has been associated with have won major Australian and International industry awards.
