CANADIAN CO-PRODUCTION MARKET

Are you an Australian producer looking for a Canadian co-production partner? Want to learn more about Canadian production companies and their work?

Presented by Heritage Canada and the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney, the Canadian Co-Production Market is designed to facilitate international networking and business opportunities between Australia and Canadian production companies taking part in AIDC 2022.

Selected production companies will take part in 15-minute meetings with Canadian production companies to learn more about what they do and discuss potential projects for co-production.

CANxAUS CO-PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

All participating production companies are invited to take part in a CANxAUS Co-Production Workshop prior to AIDC with a focus on showcasing co-production opportunities between the two countries.

The CANxAUS Co-Production Workshop will take place online on Wednesday 2nd March 9:00-12:00 (AEDT) for Australian and Canadian producers taking part in the co-production market.

During the workshop, representatives from Screen Australia and Telefilm will provide an overview of the Canadian and Australian funding landscapes as well as a deep exploration of the co-production Treaty, funding benefits and common legal points to consider when entering into a co-production. Participants will also gain insights into a current Canadian-Australian Co-production in development.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

The Canadian Co-Production Market is designed specifically with experienced Australian producers in mind who have the capacity to engage in official and unofficial co-production with Canada.

AIDC is now calling for Australian companies attending the conference to register their interest if they:

  • have current or future projects and are looking for international co-production opportunities with Canadian companies;

or

  • are looking to come on board as a co-producer for current or future Canadian projects.

Business and All-Access Passholders can register interest here by filling out your company profile and any additional information you may like to provide regarding current or future projects or history with international co-productions.

AIDC will match select companies with Canadian companies according to the submitted profile, with fifteen-minute meetings taking place online between Thursday 10 and Thursday 17 March, 2022.

Please ensure you register your interest prior to the closing date of 23:59 PM AEDT Sunday 20 February 2022.

KEY DATES

AIDC will inform successful companies of their meeting schedule with the Canadians the week prior to AIDC, with fifteen-minute meetings taking place via AIDC’s online event platform during Thursday 10 March – Thursday 17 March AEDT 2022.
