Regenerating Australia - Preview Screening with Filmmaker Q&A

Innovation Winner of the inaugural AIDC Getty Images Archive Pitch, join us for a sneak preview of Regenerating Australia, an innovative short documentary created by Damon Gameau and Anna Kaplan.

Regenerating Australia is a 17-minute documentary based on a four-month ‘listening campaign’ with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country’s future. It is a new story for our nation: a story of empowerment. A story of solutions. A story of regeneration.

Set on New Year’s Eve December 2029, a well-known news anchor is ending the nightly bulletin with a look back at the decade ‘that could be’. A decade that saw Australia transition to a fairer, cleaner, more community focused economy. The film is a construction of hypothetical news reports featuring real journalists, politicians, business leaders and citizens.

Join us for a preview screening and panel discussion ahead of the film’s national cinema tour. The session features Director Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film), Producer Anna Kaplan (2040, That Sugar Film) and regenerative design expert Dr Dominique Hes unpacking the unique development process that underpins the film and the impact campaign they are rolling out in partnership with WWF-Australia.

Regenerating Australia is a Regen Studios film produced in association with WWF-Australia, with major philanthropic support from Shark Island Foundation.
