Writer/director/producer Michael Hudson is a proud Bangarang and Yorta Yorta man from northeast Victoria.

His short film Ties That Bind won the short screenplay award at Sydney Film Festival 2019 and received best director and best indigenous film nominations at CinfestOz 2020. Michael has produced, written and directed docu-web series for ABC: Can You Hear Me? and Network Ten: Stuff Everyone Should Know About Australia – S02 & S03.

Michael is an alumni of Untapped (2022), MIFF Accelerator Lab and AFTRS Talent Camp, and has participated in Screen Australia and SBS – Digital Originals, Developing the Developer, as well as Screen Australia First Nations initiatives – Short Black (Drama) and Shock Treatment (Horror).

In 2022, Michael undertook a directors attachment on the Garth Davis directed sci-fi drama feature, Foe, starring Saoirse Ronin, Paul Mescal and Aaron Pierre, produced by Anonymous Content, See-Saw Films and Amazon Studios. He joined the producing teams at No Coincidence Media and Causeway Films on the Jon Bell directed supernatural horror feature, The Moogai. The placements were supported through VicScreen and Screen Australia First Nations.

Michael is currently developing Indigenous horror/dark fantasy series, Summer of Evil, and Indigenous supernatural feature, Unravel.
