NEW GUESTS SET TO PARTICIPATE IN FILM FUNDS SESSION

The REGIONALITY CAIRNS line-up just keeps growing! This week, AIDC and Screen Queensland, in collaboration with Screenworks, are excited to welcome Ianeta Le’i, Senior Manager of the Sundance Institute’s Indigenous Program, and Alex West, Head of Documentary at Screen Australia, to the list of guests participating in the Friday 28 July event at Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC).

Based in Utah, USA, the Sundance Institute is a non-profit organisation devoted to developing original voices and new ideas for the screen. It runs multiple annual labs and intensives, provides grants exceeding USD $3 million and facilitates ongoing mentorships, supporting more than 1000 artists each year.

As Senior Manager for the Sundance Institute’s Indigenous Program, Ianeta’s focus is to identify and support emerging Indigenous filmmakers and their stories from across the USA and globally. She manages the implementation of all labs, fellowships, and intensives, as well as facilitates outreach and engagement efforts.

Screen Australia is the key funding body for the Australian screen industry, supporting development, production and promotion.

As Head of Documentary for Screen Australia, Alex is responsible for helping fund and produce content across the full range of documentary and factual screen content. He has extensive international factual and specialist factual TV credits as a director, producer, edit producer and executive producer, having helped create over 60 films and series.
