REGIONALITY CAIRNS

INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE FOR REGIONAL REALITIES

Co-presented by AIDC and Screen Queensland, in collaboration with Screenworks, REGIONALITY CAIRNS is a one-day industry event for screen practitioners in regional Queensland interested in documentary and/or factual screen content. 

Including project pitching opportunities, sector networking, and exclusive masterclasses and industry panels featuring local and global documentary and factual talent, REGIONALITY CAIRNS is designed to provide national and international exposure for nonfiction screen practitioners from regional and Far North Queensland.

The REGIONALITY CAIRNS program includes:

  • The live REGIONALITY Pitch
  • A high-level masterclass with an internationally acclaimed filmmaker
  • Industry panels featuring both local and international experts and decision makers
  • Business opportunities including one-on-one meetings and networking drinks to end the day

REGIONALITY CAIRNS will be held at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) in Cairns, Queensland, on Friday 2 September 2022

THE REGIONALITY PITCH

Are you a screen practitioner from regional or Far North Queensland with a market-ready documentary or factual feature, single or series project?

As part of REGIONALITY, AIDC, Screen Queensland and Screenworks are calling for regional Queensland-based project teams to apply for the REGIONALITY Pitch.

Up to four teams will be selected for international training, mentorship, and trailer editing, before their project is pitched to key local and international buyers, commissioners and funders. Post-pitch meetings between interested decision makers and pitching teams will also be facilitated by AIDC.

The REGIONALITY Pitch will be adjudicated by four assessment committee members and one pitch mentor.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications for the REGIONALITY Pitch are open now, with a deadline of 11.59pm (AEST) Sunday 17 July 2022.

To be eligible, REGIONALITY Pitch applicants must be based in regional Queensland. Regional areas are defined as all areas in Queensland outside of Greater Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast.

Applicants are encouraged to begin the submission process as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute rush in entering project information. 

Successful REGIONALITY Pitch applicants will receive free registration for REGIONALITY CAIRNS, including a refund of tickets if already purchased.
