Susan Nation has over twenty years of experience in marketing, creative development, events and content production.

Susan started her career marketing and producing content and events for consumer brands for Unilever, 7UP, Gillette/P& G The Economist Group and D G Medios Music around the world starting in Sydney then heading to Canada to work with Lenz Entertainment in marketing and development on projects like pre-school series Nanalan’ (CBC). 

She founded Hop To It Productions with Nina Beveridge and Paul Hart of Beevision Productions in 2006. Susan has created and produced several notable multi-platform projects which have sold around the world including short doc RUKUS innovative multi-cultural kids’ project Big Grin’s House Party, 2 seasons of the Award winning Pop It! Kids TV dance-along project (Nick Aus and TVO) , the award-winning documentary Suck It Up Princess , the Hip Hop in the T-Dot half-hour cult hit TV and digital series. At Hop To It, the team developed expertise in starting conversations and building communities. 

Susan most recently created and produced the successful convergent documentary project Talent Hounds (an award winning one hour Documentary Special and 4 x half hours as well as over 400 videos and 2+ million views on YouTube. Susan has won awards for YouTube videos and reaches hundreds of thousands a month when active. Susan has several exciting projects in development Susan has won multiple awards including Houston Worldfest Platinum Awards, Best Pet Video Awards, a Telus Innovation Award, “Deal Makers Live” at the Banff Festival, the Fusion Forum and Banff 07 iPitch Susan was on the Advisory Board of Banff and Ontario Creates Digital Finance Committee for several years. She regularly attends markets including MIPCOM, NATPE, Realscreen and Kidscreen.

Hop To It promotes diversity and strong female roles behind and in front of the camera.

Hop To It has been a pioneer in multi-platform projects making TV, live and digital content for the last 16 years. Hop To It Productions Inc. looks at traditional funding for content through license fees, international pre-sales and co-productions, distribution advances, tax credits and funds, but also at alternatives like sponsorships, advertising partnerships, crowd-funding, retail partnerships, mobile partnerships, OTT, VOD, Podcasts, live events, shops and merchandising collaborations both within and outside Canada. 

For the last four years they have been building up a trusted team and expertise in documentaries, kids, digital series, social media and community building.

We are looking for a co-producer, broadcast partner/s and/or distributor, possibly with footage, on our wildlife doumentary series.

I have worked with Disney, Nickelodeon, CBC, Rogers, Corus, PopTv (Sony), TVO, The Economist, Dog TV (Discovery) and various other brands and countries.

I have co-written, co-directed and co-produced several award-winning multiplatform projects including kids’ live action dance-along TV, digital and live series Pop It!, Documentary Suck It Up Princess and Documentary Series Talent Hounds (Dogs Make A Difference and Rescues Rock).

I grew up in Sydney and have worked in advertising and marketing there. I have also worked with Nickelodeon Australia, Beyond and with Roadshow.
