Nirma originally trained in fashion design, from where she crossed over to filmmaking in 2015. Her immersive work has shown at venues including Melbourne Museum, London Short Film Festival, Berlinale EFM, SXSW and MUTEK Montréal. As an interdisciplinary practitioner, Nirma’s projects tell critical and speculative stories of technology by means of fashion performance. These retain a material connection to actual contexts. More recent activities have included pitching at Venice Production Bridge, and at C-Doc festival where she presented on XR technology for non-fiction contexts.
