Leah Mallen, helms the Vancouver-based company All In Pictures with producer Marc Stephenson to develop, finance and produce a slate of projects for the feature film, television and digital marketplaces. Her work has garnered many awards and accolades and have been distributed globally, including a Best Short Film Award at the Cannes Film Festival’s Critic’s Week, a Best Documentary Film at the Zurich Film Festival, and multiple Best Learning Apps Awards at Kidscreen. She has distributed films to HBO, Sundance, Hulu, BBC, ARTE, CBC and Knowledge Network. She was one of six international producers selected to attend the Binger Film Lab in Amsterdam, is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s Producer Lab, and has chaired or sat on many creative boards, including the Hot Docs International Film Festival board, DOCBC, and Vancouver’s Cinematheque. Leah has co-produced international content with esteemed producers and directors worldwide. Her credits include the award-winning documentary Hammer & Tickle by UK director Ben Lewis the documentary film Coast Modern, which screened theatrically across Canada and the US. She produced the feature film Camera Shy with Cannes-award winning director Mark Sawers that garnered several international and Canadian awards for Best Feature Film. She recently directed her first documentary and alongside partner Marc Stephenson is developing multiple live action, animation, scripted and unscripted properties. She is also the producer of Vancouver Architecture and Design Film festival which plays annually.

 


All In Pictures

Vancouver-based Producers Marc Stephenson and Leah Mallen head up the company All In Pictures, that develops, finances and produces high quality independent content with highly talented filmmakers and storytellers that have unique perspectives and passion for their projects. The producers’ combined decades of production, international co-production, and financing experience over all types of content ensures All In Pictures sees a project through from start to finish, with passion for and knowledge of the industry.
Together they are in various stages of financing and development with multiple projects; stories aimed at the kids , tween and adult demographics including Friends with Boys; a live action tween drama being produced with Zoic Studios based on the graphic novel by Faith Erin Hicks. The Book of Darryl, a hilarious animated series based on GIF artist Scorpion Dagger’s renowned artwork is in development with Vancouver-based The Goggles and Corus Entertainment, and The MAD World of Harvey Kurtzman, a feature documentary that will explore the life of the infamous and iconic founder and creator of MAD Magazine. The Harold Greenburg Fund awarded All In Pictures with funding for the feature film The Rose of Tralee, aimed to be an Irish / Canada co-production. Wellness, a comedy series is in development with creator Jonathan Williams, which is a sardonic take on the world of homeopathic care, which stars Erin Karpluk (Being Erica). Together, the partners are fostering several talents and have acquired rights to various projects and IP. In production is Form and Place, a documentary series about design in British Columbia. Leah’s directorial short documentary debut Chasing Steve is being developed as a documentary series about citizen science.
