​​Julia is the owner and Managing Director of Prospero Productions, which, having been trading for over 30 years, has become one of the leading independent TV factual production companies in Australia.

Julia is a multi-award winning Executive Producer, Producer, Director and Writer.  In 1998 her highly acclaimed directorial debut, Paying for the Piper, was nominated for two AFI awards, a Royal Television Society award, and won the Golden Spire Award at the 2000 San Francisco Film Festival. Julia has made over 300 hours of television across a broad spectrum of genres for the Australian and international marketplace. Her most noted global hits include the ground-breaking, Outback Truckers and Outback Opal Hunters. She has recently brought all her skills of story-telling and producing to the fulldome screen, producing three ambitious 4K, live action fulldome films, Ningaloo – Australia’s Other Great Reef, Whale Super Highway, which she wrote and directed, and Star Dreaming which she wrote and co-produced. 

 

Julia is also a highly accomplished business woman. She is winner of the 2021 Western Australian of the Year Business Award. Julia is also a highly active member of the screen industry. Currently, she is the Deputy Chair of Screen Voice, a former member of the Screenwest Industry Advisory Group (IAG), and is newly appointed as Advisor to the Screen Producers Australia (SPA) Council.
