Gillian Moody is a Wodi Wodi/Dharawal/Yuin woman who has worked in both management and production roles during her extensive years in the screen industry.

Gillian has worked at SBS Television and as an Investment and Development Manager in Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department.  She is well respected for her advocacy for First Nation Stories as a producer, writer, director, industry mentor, advisor and story developer.  

2023 saw two award winning films premier for Gillian, her feature documentary Kindred co-directed with Adrian Russell Wills and Co-Produced with Tom Zubrycki, premiered at Sydney Film Festival and screened at MIFF. Gillian and Adrian were awarded the inaugural First Nations Film Creative Award. Gillian also produced short film Katele (Mudskipper) which was awarded the 2023 Flickerfest Best Australian Short Film.

Her additional credits include the documentary TV Series Family Rules (2016) and Blue Water Empire (2019), drama series Mystery Road (2018), documentary feature Black Divaz (2018) and short film The Ties That Bind (2019).

Gillian continues to develop and collaborate on screen projects alongside her current role as Snr Manager, Indigenous Connections at the National Film and Sound Archives.
