David Fanner is the Head of Multimedia at Guardian Australia, he joined the publisher in 2016.

In his role, David oversees Guardian Australia’s news and creative video output across all its digital platforms. This begins with defining the editorial direction, strategy, and priorities for video throughout the year, creating or commissioning content accordingly, and then deciding how and when it can have the most impact on publication.

He has over a decade of experience in the online media industry, including time at Screen Australia and News Corp as its Video Chief of Staff. David holds a Masters in Journalism from University of Technology, Sydney and the Danish School of Media and Journalism.

He also holds a degree in International Politics from the University of Canberra.
