REEL SMART: Academic Pitch Application Form

La Trobe University is collaborating with the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) on an exclusive and exciting new initiative, Reel Smart Academic Pitching Forum,  designed to provide select academics with the opportunity to increase their research reach and impact within the non-fiction screen sector.

The initiative will provide five La Trobe University researchers working across ASSC and SHE the opportunity to pitch their research projects to documentary and factual producers, with a vision towards turning them into non-fiction screen content (including television, film and web production).

The five projects selected will attend the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) on Tuesday 3 March 2020 at the State Library Victoria in Melbourne to pitch their project to producers working in Australia and overseas.

Researchers whose projects are selected will also be invited to participate in a one-day training workshop designed to provide researchers with an overview of the documentary landscape and to help develop and refine their pitch. The workshop will take place in Melbourne on Saturday 15 February, 2020 and will include both a seminar and mentoring from top film and television industry professionals.

We are now calling for Expressions of Interest from La Trobe University researchers to take part in the Reel Smart Academic Pitch 2020.
