The AIDC Awards were established in 2021 to recognise the outstanding completed works of new Australian documentary and factual content across six categories.

Through the AIDC Awards and the Stanley Hawes Award, AIDC recognises the talents and expertise of Australian practitioners across the nonfiction sector.

The AIDC Awards categories include:

1. Best Feature Documentary, with a $3,000 cash prize presented by Film Finances.
2. Best Documentary/Factual Series
3. Best Documentary/Factual Single
4. Best Short Documentary
5. Best Audio Documentary, with a $3,000 cash prize presented by AFTRS.
6. Best Interactive/Immersive Documentary
7. Stanley Hawes Award

The winners of each award have been selected by an independent jury of experts in their field and will be announced at a special event in ACMI’s state-of-the-art cinema.

We will also be announcing a number of industry pass prizes and the successful recipients of our industry pitching initiatives.
