AIDC and @abcaustralia are thrilled to announce director and producer @dylan.nicholls.film as the recipient of the Indigenous Documentary Placement for 2025.
The paid annual placement provides emerging filmmakers with an opportunity to develop their craft within the ABC’s Factual and Indigenous teams. Dylan will spend four months based at the ABC in Sydney starting next month, furthering his skills in documentary and factual development and production.
Our congratulations to Dylan! We can’t wait to hear about his experience with the ABC.

AIDC & @abcaustralia are pleased to open applications for the Indigenous Documentary Placement program for 2025, with a submission deadline of 27 April 2025.
The placement provides one mid-career Indigenous practitioner with a unique opportunity to undertake a paid four-month placement in Sydney with the ABC, Australia’s largest public broadcaster.
Practitioners from all states and territories are welcome to apply and may be eligible to seek additional support from their relevant state or territory screen agency to help with travel costs.
For Indigenous practitioners interested in applying, a virtual information session hosted by Kelrick Martin, Head of Indigenous, ABC, and Justin Fenwick, Indigenous Employment Manager, ABC, will take place on Wednesday 16 April, 11:00am-12:00pm AEST.
