Returnable hit series are the “golden goose” for both networks and producers. They can define broadcasters and offer security for the production companies and producers who make them. But how do you develop and create a returnable hit series? And what are the secrets behind their success?

Bernadine Lim (Senior Commissioning Editor, Factual, SBS) leads this discussion, joined by David McDonald (Shaun Micallef’s Origin Odyssey), Jo Siddiqui (The Hospital: In the Deep End) and Joseph Maxwell (Head of Unscripted, SBS), providing the inside line from both producers and broadcaster on what does or doesn’t work, and the challenges and opportunities in bringing new Australian IP to the screen.
