In this robust session we’ll ask leading documentary and factual talents Patrick Abboud (Gayrabia, Only Human Productions / Dreamchaser Studios), Dean Gibson (First Weapons, Bacon Factory), Veronica Fury (Joh: Last King of Queensland, Wildbear Entertainment), Ivan O’Mahoney (Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story, In Films) and Camilla Mazzaferro (Songbird Studios, Porcelain War) to share their strategies for structuring a solid development framework. Stepping through the process, we’ll touch on finding inspiration, research techniques, engaging participants, approvals/rights negotiations, development filming, identifying your audience, and crafting the perfect pitch for market.

In the second half of the session, we invite guests of Regionality to share their documentary dilemmas for Doc Hotline and open the floor to the panel, decision makers and audience members, to contribute to creative solutions.
