Madeleine Hetherton-Miau is a multi-awarded director, producer and co-founder of Media Stockade.

Guided by the belief that “truth is stranger than fiction,” her work has taken her from diamond divers in Africa to wildlife traffickers in Burma and deep into the Australian outback. In 2012 she co-founded Media Stockade, building a slate of bold, globally engaged documentary and drama projects.

Her work has screened internationally across National Geographic, Netflix, ABC, BBC, PBS, Sky Arts UK, Discovery, Hulu and Al Jazeera. Madeleine’s credits include the acclaimed series The Surgery Ship, ABC’s The Family Court Murders, and the feature documentary Mozart’s Sister, which became Australia’s 4th highest-grossing cinema documentary in 2024, has been nominated for international award Rose d’Or and a highly commended at the Association of International Broadcaster awards and two AACTA Awards.
