ACCESS RETURNS!
In partnership with Beach House Pictures for the fourth year, AIDC has opened applications for the 2020 ACCESS Mentorship & Professional Development Program with six mentee places available.
ACCESS gives documentary and factual screen media creators the opportunity to hone their skills and develop ideas with top-tier industry professionals, and also potentially secure a paid internship with Beach House Pictures in Singapore or a pass to the UK’s Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2020.
TOP-TIER MENTORS
The program is now seeking documentary or factual screen media creators with an original idea in early development.
Six successful applicants will receive the chance to incubate their ideas in exclusive one-on-one mentorship sessions with international industry professionals during the four days of AIDC 2020.
Previous mentors have included such luminaries as John Brown [pictured] (Cinematographer, Planet Earth II), Jennifer Peedom (Director, Mountain), Ezra Edelman (Director, O.J.: Made in America), Sandi Tan (Director, Shirkers), Robert Fernandez (Producer, Errol Morris’s Wormwood), Sara Ramsden (Creative Director, Love Productions), Marc Smerling (Producer, The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst) and many more.
paid internship opportunity
At the end of the program, one project will be selected for the ACCESS Prize, a unique opportunity to undertake a one-month paid internship with Beach House Pictures in Singapore.
The internship is designed to provide hands-on experience with one of the world’s leading production houses and an opportunity to further develop their project ideas in a supportive, international setting.

AIDC is also partnering with the UK’s Sheffield Doc/Fest to offer a second ACCESS participant a complimentary Festival Pass to the UK’s leading documentary festival in June 2020.
The recipient will shadow local and international industry professionals and learn how to navigate international festivals and markets.

ACCESS Program applications are open to anyone aged 18+ living in Australia with a non-fiction screen project idea in early stages of development. Early-career, CALD and Indigenous practitioners are encouraged to apply.
