Volunteer at AIDC
Volunteer Recruitment for AIDC 2018
Are you passionate about documentary? Do you want to build your skills in festival or event management? Interested in opportunities to meet other like-minded non-fiction fans? If so, we'd love you to volunteer with us during the 2018 Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) Sunday 4 March - Wed 7 March, 2018.
Based at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne, AIDC 2018 will host a four-day documentary project marketplace, forum and screening and events program, attracting a diverse mix of broadcasters, storytellers, entrepreneurs and documentary fans from Australia, the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
The conference is fast approaching and we are looking for a number of enthusiastic volunteers to help out in the lead up (Thurs 1 March) and during the event (Sunday 4 March - Wed 7 March).
If you’re interested in getting involved and/or want more information on volunteering with us, PLEASE CLICK HERE to complete our online application form.
• Front of House: registration / liaising with delegates / ushering / wayfinding
• Event Management: venue set ups / event delivery / bump out / general venue support
• Marketing Communications: assisting with installations / activations and signage install
• Audio Visual: video recording / stills photography / podcast editing / social media
In exchange for generously volunteering with us, you will receive access to sessions available on the day of your shift. These sessions are valued at over $175 / day. Along with this, you will receive an AIDC t-shirt and meal vouchers.
Volunteers are able to attend sessions on the day they volunteer so please see the conference program at www.aidc.com.au to assist with the selection of preferred shifts.
We value the time, commitment and expertise our volunteers contribute to AIDC and many of our volunteers have since returned to work with AIDC which we always encourage.
Ideally volunteers will be available for a minimum of four shifts between Sunday 4 and Wednesday 7 March. Shifts are between 4 – 6 hours and include a meal break after 4 hours.
Volunteers will need to attend a compulsory induction session prior to the conference on either Monday 26 or Wednesday 28 February between 17:30 – 19:00. The sessions will cover all the in’s and out’s of the conference including a WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) induction with an AIDC and ACMI representative.
Your attendance is key to ensure our conference runs as smoothly as possible!
Applications close: COB Wednesday 21 February 2018.
Applicants must be over the age of 18 to apply.
Thanks again for your interest in AIDC 2018. Our Volunteers Coordinator will be in touch!
